The package also states “For All skin types” and 60 mL / 3.38 fl oz.

1. Lemon

Lemon-derived ingredients can provide compounds such as citric acid and citrus-derived components, depending on what form is actually used.

In a facewash, lemon-related ingredients may be included for:

  • cleansing/refreshing feel

  • mild exfoliating/brightening effects if acids are present

  • antioxidant/botanical positioning

Important: “Lemon” on the front does not tell us whether the formula contains lemon juice, lemon extract, lemon oil, citric acid, or another lemon-derived ingredient. Those are chemically different.

2. Silk

“Silk” generally refers to a silk-derived protein/hydrolysate, rather than silk fibres being present as such.

It is primarily a conditioning ingredient and can give skin a smoother, softer feel after washing.

3. Lavender

Lavender may appear in cosmetics as:

  • lavender extract, or

  • lavender oil/fragrance component.

Its most obvious cosmetic role is often fragrance, although botanical extracts can have additional properties.

For sensitive skin, lavender/fragrance components can sometimes cause irritation or allergic contact dermatitis, so “natural” does not automatically mean irritation-free.

About the “whitening & brightening” claim

This is a cosmetic marketing claim, not evidence that the product will permanently lighten someone's natural skin colour.

A facewash is also a rinse-off product, so its contact time with the skin is short. Its ability to produce significant pigmentation changes depends heavily on the actual active ingredients and their concentrations.

What is not visible

The photograph does not show enough information to establish:

  • complete ingredient/INCI list

  • concentrations of lemon, silk or lavender

  • surfactants/cleansing agents

  • preservatives

  • fragrance composition

  • pH

  • specific skin-brightening active

  • whether it contains an exfoliating acid or another depigmenting ingredient

I searched specifically for Accott De-Tan Facewash, but couldn't find a reliable manufacturer formulation online, so I wouldn't fill those gaps by guessing. (Scribd)

Bottom line: the confirmed featured ingredients from this package are Lemon + Silk + Lavender, with the product marketed for de-tanning/brightening. The complete composition cannot be determined from the front label.

If you show me the back of the tube/box, I can decode the complete ingredient list and tell you which ingredients actually perform the cleansing, exfoliation, brightening, moisturizing and preservation functions.
