DOXYCOT-LB is a combination medicine containing doxycycline, an antibiotic used to treat certain bacterial infections, and lactic acid bacillus, a probiotic intended to support healthy intestinal bacteria during antibiotic treatment.
Depending on the diagnosis, doctors may prescribe doxycycline for:
Bacterial respiratory infections, including certain types of pneumonia.
Acne and some bacterial skin infections.
Certain sexually transmitted infections, particularly chlamydia.
Some tick-borne infections, including Lyme disease.
Other susceptible bacterial infections.
Doxycycline is also used for malaria prevention in certain circumstances. It does not treat viral illnesses such as the common cold or flu.

Doxycycline: A tetracycline-class antibiotic that prevents susceptible bacteria from producing proteins needed for growth and reproduction.
Lactic acid bacillus: A probiotic intended to help maintain the balance of beneficial bacteria in the intestines. Some probiotics reduce the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhea, although the benefit depends on the specific strain and formulation.

Take DOXYCOT-LB only as prescribed. The correct dose and duration depend on the infection and the amount of doxycycline in each capsule, which cannot be confirmed from this photograph.
Swallow the capsule with a full glass of water.
Remain upright for at least 30 minutes afterward to reduce irritation of the esophagus.
Take it at consistent times, following your prescription.
Separate it from iron, calcium supplements and antacids as advised by your pharmacist.
Complete the prescribed course unless your doctor instructs you otherwise.
Doxycycline may be taken with food if it causes stomach upset, depending on the formulation.
