SIMI-SPAS DROP
SIMI-SPAS Drops, a liquid medicine containing Dicyclomine Hydrochloride + Simethicone. It appears to be a pediatric oral suspension/drop formulation.
1. Dicyclomine hydrochloride
2. Simethicone
So, in general, this combination is intended to relieve symptoms such as abdominal cramps/spasm, gas and bloating.
The presence of dicyclomine is particularly important. Current U.S. prescribing information states that dicyclomine is contraindicated in infants younger than 6 months. Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established, and serious reactions have been reported following infant exposure. DailyMed
Therefore, don't give these drops to a child under 6 months unless a qualified pediatrician has specifically prescribed them and confirmed the dose. The fact that the packaging has an elephant/children's design does not by itself mean the medicine is appropriate for every infant.
I would not determine the dose from this photograph alone. The concentration (for example, how many mg of dicyclomine and simethicone per mL/drop) isn't sufficiently readable, and dosing depends on the patient's age and clinical situation.
If you tell me the patient's age (and weight, if it's a child), I can explain what this medicine is generally used for, the important safety issues, and how to interpret the prescription/label.
