About ARGICOT SYRUP

ARGICOT Syrup

I examined the composition panel in your uploaded image more closely. The label states that each 5 mL contains:

Composition

1. L-Arginine — 250 mg/5 mL

L-Arginine is a conditionally essential amino acid.

It is a substrate for the enzyme nitric oxide synthase, which produces nitric oxide (NO):

L-Arginine → Nitric oxide (NO)

Nitric oxide helps regulate vascular smooth-muscle relaxation and therefore contributes to normal blood-vessel function and blood flow.

Why it is included

L-arginine preparations are commonly formulated as nutritional supplements intended to support:

  • Normal blood circulation

  • Vascular function

  • Nitric-oxide production

  • Nutritional requirements during certain physiological states

The package specifically promotes this product for blood-flow support and pregnancy, but the label itself also states that it is a “Nutraceutical — Not for Medicinal Use.”

2. Proanthocyanidin — 75 mg/5 mL

The label specifies:

Proanthocyanidin from Grape Seed Extract — 75 mg/5 mL

Proanthocyanidins are polyphenolic compounds found in grape seeds.

Main properties

They have antioxidant activity, meaning they can help counter oxidative processes involving free radicals.

They are also studied for effects related to:

  • Vascular/endothelial function

  • Antioxidant protection

  • Microcirculation

  • Normal blood-vessel function

In this formulation, grape-seed proanthocyanidin complements L-arginine's role in a nutritional product intended to support vascular health and blood flow.

3. Excipients — q.s.

q.s. means “quantity sufficient.”

Excipients are non-active ingredients needed to manufacture the syrup and provide appropriate:

  • Taste

  • Consistency

  • Stability

  • Palatability

  • Preservation

  • Appearance

The exact excipients cannot be determined from the visible label because they are not individually listed in the photograph.

4. Caramel Colour

The label states:

Colour: Caramel

This is used primarily to give the syrup its characteristic colour and does not provide the principal therapeutic/nutritional action.

5. Vitamins

The label says:

“Appropriate overages of vitamins added.”

This is important: the photograph does not identify which vitamins or their quantities.

Therefore, it would not be correct to state specific vitamin names or doses based on this image alone.

How the formulation is intended to work

The basic concept is:

L-Arginine
↓
Precursor for nitric oxide
↓
Supports normal vascular function and blood flow

Grape Seed Proanthocyanidins
↓
Polyphenolic antioxidant compounds
↓
Supports antioxidant/vascular health

Together
↓
Nutritional support for blood-flow and vascular function

Amount per 5 mL

The important numbers from the label are:

L-Arginine — 250 mg

Proanthocyanidin from Grape Seed Extract — 75 mg

Therefore, for example:

  • 10 mL → L-Arginine 500 mg + Proanthocyanidin 150 mg

  • 15 mL → L-Arginine 750 mg + Proanthocyanidin 225 mg

  • 20 mL → L-Arginine 1,000 mg + Proanthocyanidin 300 mg

These are mathematical conversions of the labeled concentration, not recommended doses.

Important point

Although the packaging shows a mother and baby and mentions “Healthy Pregnancy,” this should not be taken to mean that the product is automatically appropriate or safe during pregnancy. L-arginine supplementation can have drug interactions and may not be appropriate for everyone. Pregnancy use should follow the prescribing clinician's advice, exactly as the label states.

If your purpose is pharmacy/medical study, I can also prepare the complete Argicot Syrup drug profile in this format: composition → mechanism of action → pharmacological effects → indications → dosage → contraindications → side effects → drug interactions → pregnancy/lactation → storage → patient counselling points.
