About DR. PANTA LS CAPSULE

Dr. Panta-LS Capsules Dr. Panta-LS

Prescription medicine

Manufacturer/brand shown: Accott

Composition: Pantoprazole (enteric-coated) and Levosulpiride (sustained-release)

Pack size: 10 × 10 capsules (100 capsules)

Dr. Panta-LS is a combination medicine used for certain acid-related stomach problems, particularly when acidity is accompanied by symptoms such as bloating, nausea or delayed stomach emptying.

1. How the medicine works

It contains two active ingredients that have different functions.

Pantoprazole: A proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces the amount of acid produced by the stomach. It is commonly used to treat acid reflux, heartburn and acid-related inflammation of the food pipe.

Levosulpiride: A prokinetic medicine that helps improve movement of food through the upper digestive tract. It also has anti-nausea effects.

Together, these ingredients can help relieve certain combinations of acid reflux and upper digestive symptoms.

2. Common uses

Doctors may prescribe this combination for:

  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

  • Heartburn and acid regurgitation.

  • Functional dyspepsia, including uncomfortable fullness after meals.

  • Bloating, nausea or symptoms associated with delayed gastric emptying.

Not every patient with acidity needs both medicines. Pantoprazole alone may be sufficient for uncomplicated acid reflux.

3. How to take Dr. Panta-LS

This medicine is often prescribed before food, commonly before breakfast. Follow the timing and frequency on your prescription.

  • Swallow the capsule whole with water.

  • Do not crush or chew it because the ingredients have special-release formulations.

  • Do not double the dose if you forget a capsule.

  • Use it only for the duration recommended by your doctor.

Pantoprazole is generally taken about one hour before a meal.

5. Precautions

Tell your doctor before taking this combination if you have heart rhythm problems, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, kidney or liver disease, or a history of elevated prolactin.

Levosulpiride can interact with medicines affecting dopamine and certain medicines that prolong the QT interval of the heart. A pharmacist should check your other medications for interactions.

If you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using it.

6. Long-term use

Dr. Panta-LS should not automatically be continued indefinitely. Prolonged pantoprazole treatment may be associated with low magnesium, vitamin B12 deficiency and increased fracture risk.

Prolonged levosulpiride exposure may also increase the risk of hormonal and movement-related side effects.

7. When to seek medical attention

Seek urgent medical care for chest pain, fainting, a rapid or irregular heartbeat, vomiting blood, black stools or a severe allergic reaction. Consult your doctor promptly if you develop difficulty swallowing, unexplained weight loss or persistent vomiting.

8. Lifestyle measures

If you have acid reflux, eating smaller meals, avoiding personal food triggers and leaving at least three hours between dinner and bedtime may help. Raising the head of your bed can also reduce nighttime reflux.

In summary: Dr. Panta-LS combines acid suppression with a medicine that promotes upper digestive tract movement. It should be taken according to a doctor's prescription, particularly because levosulpiride has important potential side effects and interactions.
