About RABITIME-IT CAPSULE

RABITIME-IT Capsules

The medicine in your photograph is RABITIME-IT, a combination of rabeprazole sodium and itopride hydrochloride. It is used to treat certain acid-related and digestive conditions, particularly when acidity occurs alongside bloating, nausea or slow stomach emptying.

RABITIME-IT

Prescription medicine

Rabeprazole sodium (E.C.) and Itopride hydrochloride (S.R.) capsules

Pack: 10 × 10 capsules (100 capsules)

The exact milligram strengths are not clearly readable in your photograph. Similar products commonly contain rabeprazole 20 mg and sustained-release itopride 150 mg, but check the reverse of your pack before relying on these strengths.

2. Composition and how it works

|
Ingredient

|

Function

|
| --- | --- |
|

Rabeprazole sodium (E.C.)

|

Reduces stomach acid production.

|
|

Itopride hydrochloride (S.R.)

|

Improves stomach movement and helps food pass through the digestive tract.

|

Rabeprazole belongs to a group of medicines called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). It blocks an enzyme responsible for acid secretion in the stomach, helping relieve heartburn and allowing acid-damaged tissue to heal.

Itopride is a prokinetic medicine. It acts on dopamine D2 receptors and inhibits acetylcholinesterase, increasing gastrointestinal movement. This may relieve fullness after meals, bloating and nausea.

The abbreviations on the box mean:

  • E.C. (Enteric Coated): protects the medicine from being released too early in the stomach.

  • S.R. (Sustained Release): releases the medicine gradually over an extended period.

3. Medical uses

Acid reflux (GERD)

Helps manage acid flowing back from the stomach into the food pipe, causing heartburn, sour taste or chest discomfort.

Functional dyspepsia

May help with upper abdominal discomfort, early fullness, bloating and nausea associated with impaired stomach movement.

Acid-related ulcers

Rabeprazole reduces stomach acid and supports ulcer healing. The combination may be prescribed when additional digestive symptoms are present.

These are uses of the ingredients and comparable combinations; the approved indications for your exact brand may vary.

Seek urgent medical care for difficulty breathing, facial swelling, vomiting blood, black stools or severe persistent abdominal pain.

6. Precautions and interactions

Tell your doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have significant liver or kidney disease, or have a history of allergy to either ingredient.

Itopride should not be used when increased gastrointestinal movement could be dangerous, such as with intestinal obstruction, perforation or gastrointestinal bleeding.

CIMS India

Rabeprazole can interact with medicines including warfarin, methotrexate and certain medicines whose absorption depends on stomach acidity. Anticholinergic medicines may reduce itopride's effectiveness.

7. When to consult a doctor

Persistent acidity should not automatically be treated with repeated courses of this medicine. Arrange a medical assessment if symptoms persist, return soon after treatment, or are accompanied by unexplained weight loss, difficulty swallowing, persistent vomiting or blood in the stool.

Important: The photograph identifies the ingredients and pack quantity, but not the exact strength, expiry date or complete manufacturer information. Check the back or side label and follow your own prescription rather than assuming the dose of a similar brand.
