Amoxicillin + clavulanate is an antibiotic combination. Amoxicillin is a penicillin-type antibiotic, while clavulanate inhibits certain bacterial enzymes (β-lactamases) that can otherwise make some bacteria resistant to amoxicillin.
It is used for certain bacterial infections. It does not treat viral illnesses such as ordinary colds or most viral coughs.
The package visibly says 2 g/10 mL, but that number alone isn't enough to determine the appropriate dose for a child. The exact dosing depends on the amoxicillin component, the child's weight, the infection being treated, kidney function, and the prescribing instructions. The concentration should therefore be checked carefully before calculating a dose.
Also, because this is a prescription antibiotic, it should be used according to the clinician/pharmacist's instructions rather than simply based on the product photograph.
