ACCTRON DROP
This image shows Acctron Drops, a 30 mL oral solution containing ondansetron. It is a medicine used to prevent or control nausea and vomiting.
Brand: Acctron Drops
Active ingredient: Ondansetron
Form: Oral solution / drops
Pack size: 30 mL
Manufacturer visible: Aceott
The bottle is supplied with a dropper, intended to measure the liquid dose.
Ondansetron is a 5-HT3 receptor antagonist that acts on pathways involved in triggering vomiting. It is used for nausea and vomiting in several situations, including after surgery and with certain chemotherapy/radiotherapy treatments. (DailyMed)
Ondansetron may be prescribed for vomiting associated with:
Gastroenteritis/stomach infection
Certain medications
Surgery
Chemotherapy
Radiotherapy
Its primary purpose is controlling vomiting, rather than treating the infection or its underlying cause.
The photograph clearly shows “30 mL”, but I cannot reliably read the ondansetron concentration from this image.
This is important because ondansetron liquids are sold in different strengths. For example, an official ondansetron oral-solution label lists 4 mg/5 mL, while some pediatric Indian products are sold at other concentrations. (DailyMed)
Therefore, don't calculate the number of drops from this photograph alone.
Commonly reported effects include:
Headache
Constipation
Dizziness
Fatigue
A more important but uncommon concern is QT-interval prolongation, which can increase the risk of an abnormal heart rhythm in susceptible people. This is particularly relevant with congenital long-QT syndrome, certain electrolyte abnormalities, some heart conditions, or other medicines that prolong the QT interval. (DailyMed)
The age, weight, reason for vomiting, and exact concentration matter when determining an appropriate dose. Pediatric dosing is not simply “X drops for every child”; official labeling, for example, gives different doses by age and indication. (DailyMed)
If you send a clear photo of the back/side of this Acctron box or bottle, especially where it says “Each 5 mL contains…”, I can tell you exactly:
the strength,
what dose the label recommends,
how many mL that corresponds to,
precautions and side effects, and
whether it can be given alongside the A-COLD drops you showed earlier.
