Accflu-200 Tablets
Medicine: Fluconazole Tablets IP 200 mg
Brand: Accflu-200
Strength: 200 mg per tablet
Dosage form: Oral tablet
Pack shown: The large box says 20 × 1 × 1 tablets; the smaller presentation shown says 1 tablet
Manufacturer/brand: Accott is the prominently displayed company/brand
Prescription status: Fluconazole 200 mg is a prescription medicine and should generally be used on medical advice.
Fluconazole is an antifungal medicine. It works by interfering with the production of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, thereby inhibiting or killing susceptible fungi.
It can be prescribed for infections such as:
Vaginal candidiasis (yeast infection)
Oral/throat candidiasis (thrush)
Certain urinary or systemic Candida infections
Some Cryptococcus infections
Other susceptible fungal infections, depending on the diagnosis
The correct dose and duration vary considerably by infection. A 200-mg tablet does not mean that 200 mg should automatically be taken for every fungal infection.
Fluconazole can interact with several medicines and, rarely, can cause significant problems involving the liver or heart rhythm.
Possible side effects include:
Nausea or stomach discomfort
Headache
Diarrhea
Skin rash
Abnormal liver enzymes
Seek medical attention promptly for yellowing of the skin/eyes, severe rash or blistering, facial swelling/breathing difficulty, or unusual/persistent heart palpitations.
The previous medicine you showed, Acclevo-5 (levocetirizine 5 mg), is an antihistamine for allergy symptoms.
Accflu-200 (fluconazole 200 mg) is an antifungal. They are completely different medicines and are not interchangeable.
If you tell me what infection/condition these two medicines were prescribed for and the instructions written on your prescription, I can explain what each one is doing and how the combination is intended to work.
