Doxycycline injection is a tetracycline-class antibiotic. Official prescribing information describes doxycycline injection as an IV-only preparation that must be reconstituted and then further diluted before infusion. DailyMed
Depending on the infection and local resistance patterns, doxycycline can be used for susceptible bacterial infections including some:
It is not a general-purpose treatment for viral infections such as ordinary viral flu or most common viral colds. Antibiotic labels specifically recommend using it when a bacterial infection is proven or strongly suspected. DailyMed
100 mg per vial does not automatically mean that every patient should receive 100 mg once. The appropriate dose and dosing interval depend on the infection, age/weight, clinical situation, kidney/liver considerations and the prescribing clinician's instructions.
Also, the powder should not be injected directly into a vein as an undiluted preparation. Official product information specifies reconstitution followed by further dilution for IV infusion. DailyMed
The ampoule on the left appears to be labelled “Water for Injection IP” (WFI). I can also make out dates that appear to read approximately 08/2026 and 07/2029, but the photograph isn't sufficiently sharp for me to certify every character.
The carton specifically says:
“with Vitamin C Ampoule + WFI”
That wording is important because the exact composition of this particular DOXYCOT pack should be verified from its package insert/manufacturer documentation rather than assuming it is identical to every doxycycline injection product. Other approved doxycycline injection formulations can contain doxycycline plus excipients such as ascorbic acid and mannitol within the vial itself. DailyMed
Doxycycline can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, headache and photosensitivity. More serious reactions can include severe allergic reactions, significant gastrointestinal problems and other uncommon adverse effects.
Particular caution is needed with:
IV doxycycline should be administered by a qualified healthcare professional, with appropriate preparation and monitoring.
I cannot confirm from the photograph alone that the product is genuine, sterile, properly stored, or safe to administer. The visible packaging isn't enough to establish authenticity. For an injectable antibiotic, those checks matter considerably.
If you want, I can also go through the image line-by-line and explain every label, ingredient, date, batch/lot marking, IV preparation, uses, dosage, side effects, contraindications and storage requirements for this particular product.
