About REDFLAM-TH GEL

Redflam-TH Gel

1. Ingredients

IngredientRole
DiclofenacNSAID painkiller/anti-inflammatory; reduces pain and inflammation
ThiocolchicosideMuscle relaxant; used for painful muscle spasm/stiffness
Methyl salicylateTopical analgesic/counterirritant
MentholProduces a cooling sensation and helps relieve pain
Linseed oilIncluded as an anti-inflammatory/supporting component

This five-drug combination is used topically for musculoskeletal pain, muscle stiffness/spasm, sprains, strains and some joint pain. Apollo Pharmacy

2. Strength

The exact strength isn't completely legible on the photographed Redflam-TH package. However, the same five-ingredient formulation commonly marketed in India is:

  • Diclofenac diethylamine — 1.16% w/w
  • Thiocolchicoside — 0.125% w/w
  • Linseed oil — 3% w/w
  • Methyl salicylate — 10% w/w
  • Menthol — 5% w/w

Those concentrations are documented for equivalent formulations, but check the side of your particular Redflam-TH box before treating these as the exact strength of your tube. 1mg

3. What it is useful for

It is primarily intended for localized muscle and joint pain, for example:

  • Muscle strain
  • Sprain
  • Back/neck muscle pain
  • Muscle spasm and stiffness
  • Sports-related muscular pain
  • Some joint/inflammatory pain
  • Osteoarthritis-related pain

The combination provides both anti-inflammatory pain relief (diclofenac) and a muscle-relaxing component (thiocolchicoside), while menthol/methyl salicylate provide local counterirritant effects. 1mg

4. How to apply

Generally, a thin layer is applied to the painful area and gently rubbed in, according to the prescribed directions. Wash your hands after application. 1mg

Do not apply it to:

  • Open wounds or cuts
  • Broken/damaged skin
  • Eyes or mouth
  • Other mucous membranes

Avoid covering the treated area tightly with a bandage unless specifically instructed. 1mg

5. Possible side effects

The most common problems are local:

  • Burning/stinging
  • Redness
  • Itching
  • Skin irritation
  • Dryness

Usually these are mild, but significant swelling, hives, blistering, severe burning or difficulty breathing requires prompt medical attention. Apollo Pharmacy

6. Important precautions

Because it contains diclofenac, people with a history of NSAID/aspirin allergy or certain conditions such as stomach ulcers, kidney disease or severe liver problems should discuss its use with a clinician. Apollo Pharmacy

Also, thiocolchicoside is not simply a conventional painkiller; it is a muscle relaxant, so this product is particularly aimed at pain accompanied by muscle spasm/stiffness.

In short:
Redflam-TH = topical anti-inflammatory + muscle relaxant + local analgesic gel, intended for painful muscles/joints rather than fungal skin infections or stomach problems.
