About ACCLEVO-M TABLET

Acclevo-M tablets

What is visible on the box

  • Brand: Acclevo-M

  • Active ingredients: Montelukast Sodium + Levocetirizine Hydrochloride

  • Form: Tablets

  • Pack: 10 × 10 tablets (100 tablets)

  • The exact strength in mg is not clearly readable from this photograph, so I would not guess it.

What these medicines do

1. Levocetirizine

  • An antihistamine that blocks histamine.

  • Mainly reduces allergy symptoms such as:

    • Sneezing

    • Runny nose

    • Nose/throat itching

    • Watery or itchy eyes

    • Hives/urticaria

  • It can cause sleepiness or drowsiness, particularly in some people.

2. Montelukast

  • A leukotriene-receptor blocker.

  • Can help with allergic rhinitis and is also used as a controller medicine for asthma. It is not a rescue medicine for an acute asthma attack. (U.S. Food and Drug Administration)

Why the combination is prescribed

The two drugs work through different pathways, so a doctor may prescribe them when allergic symptoms—especially nasal allergy—are significant or when there are associated airway symptoms.

⚠️ Important warning about montelukast

Montelukast carries an FDA boxed warning about potentially serious neuropsychiatric effects. These can include unusual dreams/nightmares, agitation, anxiety, depression, irritability, sleep problems, hallucinations, behavioral changes, and suicidal thoughts or actions. If new significant mood or behavior changes occur, contact the prescribing clinician promptly; suicidal thoughts/actions require urgent help. (U.S. Food and Drug Administration)

Because of this risk, the FDA recommends reserving montelukast for allergic rhinitis when alternative treatments haven't worked or aren't tolerated. (U.S. Food and Drug Administration)

Other practical points

  • Don't take extra tablets if you miss a dose unless your doctor/pharmacist specifically tells you to.

  • Be cautious with driving or alcohol if the tablet makes you sleepy.

  • Tell your doctor about other medicines you're taking and about pregnancy/breastfeeding.

  • If prescribed for asthma, continue your prescribed rescue inhaler; this tablet should not be relied upon to stop an acute asthma attack. (FDA Access Data)

If you want, I can also explain the exact dose, when to take Acclevo-M (morning/night), common side effects, and whether it is appropriate for a particular symptom such as cough, cold, sinusitis, or allergy.
