Prescription medicine (Rx)
Rabitime-Advance is a combination medicine containing rabeprazole sodium and two formulations of domperidone. It is intended to reduce stomach acid and improve movement of food through the upper digestive tract. It may be prescribed for selected patients with acid reflux, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and associated symptoms such as nausea, bloating or delayed gastric emptying.
According to the packaging in your photograph, each capsule contains:
Ingredient
Strength
Form
Rabeprazole sodium
20 mg
Enteric-coated (EC)
Domperidone
10 mg
Immediate-release (IR)
Domperidone
20 mg
Sustained-release (SR)
Total domperidone per capsule
30 mgThis is an important consideration because domperidone can affect heart rhythm, particularly at higher doses or in susceptible patients.
Rabeprazole 20 mg (EC)
Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It blocks the acid-producing pumps in the stomach lining, reducing acid secretion and allowing inflamed tissue in the esophagus to heal. The enteric coating protects the medicine from stomach acid until it reaches the intestine.
Domperidone 10 mg (IR) + 20 mg (SR)
Domperidone is a dopamine D2 receptor antagonist with anti-nausea and gastrointestinal prokinetic effects. The immediate-release portion is designed to release earlier, while the sustained-release portion releases more gradually. This does not eliminate the risks associated with the total 30 mg dose.
A clinician may consider the ingredients in this combination for:
Acid reflux and GERD, particularly when accompanied by nausea.
Acid-related inflammation of the esophagus.
Nausea and vomiting associated with certain gastrointestinal disorders.
Selected cases of impaired gastric motility, after assessing the underlying cause.
However, these are not all established indications for this particular combination. European regulators restrict domperidone to short-term relief of nausea and vomiting because evidence for treating bloating and heartburn is insufficient to justify its cardiac risks.

Follow the prescribing doctor's instructions. The exact dosing schedule for this brand cannot be established from the photograph alone.
For medicines containing rabeprazole, administration before a meal is common. Swallow the capsule whole with water unless its official leaflet specifies otherwise. Do not crush or chew sustained-release pellets.
Important dosage precaution
One Rabitime-Advance capsule already contains 30 mg of domperidone. European guidance sets the maximum oral adult dose at 30 mg daily, normally for no longer than one week. Do not take additional domperidone or increase the frequency without medical review.

Possible side effects of these ingredients include:
More common
Less common but important
Headache
Abnormal heart rhythm
Dry mouth
Allergic reactions
Abdominal discomfort
Severe or persistent diarrhea
Nausea
Electrolyte disturbances
Constipation or diarrhea
Hormonal effects, such as breast tenderness or discharge
These effects are associated with the ingredients; their frequency for this specific brand has not been verified.
Seek urgent medical attention if you develop fainting, a rapid or irregular heartbeat, severe dizziness, difficulty breathing or swelling of the face or throat.
Domperidone requires particular caution in people over 60, those with heart disease or abnormal ECG findings, significant liver impairment, or abnormal potassium or magnesium levels. Some antibiotics, antifungals and heart-rhythm medicines can interact dangerously with it.

Key point: Rabitime-Advance combines acid suppression with a relatively high total amount of domperidone per capsule. It should be used only for an appropriate indication, with its dose, treatment duration and potential interactions checked by a healthcare professional.
