The exact strength of each antibiotic is not clearly readable from the front of the box, so I would not guess the dose.
1. Cefpodoxime proxetil
A cephalosporin antibiotic.
After absorption, it is converted to cefpodoxime, which interferes with bacterial cell-wall formation.
Used against susceptible bacterial infections, including some respiratory, urinary and other infections.
2. Ofloxacin
A fluoroquinolone antibiotic.
Interferes with bacterial DNA replication.
Has activity against a range of susceptible bacteria.
Together, they provide coverage against different groups of bacteria. However, using two antibiotics together isn't appropriate for every infection and should be based on a doctor's diagnosis/prescription.
Common effects can include:
Nausea
Diarrhea
Stomach/abdominal discomfort
Vomiting
Headache or dizziness
Ofloxacin has some important less-common adverse effects, including:
Tendon inflammation or tendon rupture
Nerve symptoms such as burning, tingling or numbness
Significant dizziness or nervous-system effects
Abnormal heart rhythm in susceptible people
Increased sensitivity to sunlight
If you develop sudden tendon pain/swelling, particularly around the heel/Achilles, stop strenuous activity and contact your doctor promptly.
This is particularly important because you've already shown azithromycin 250 mg and 500 mg.
ACCPOD-O is already an antibiotic combination. Azithromycin is another antibiotic.
Do not take ACCPOD-O and azithromycin together unless the doctor specifically prescribed that combination.
There is also a potentially important interaction with your ACCVIT-CZ supplement because it contains zinc. Zinc can reduce absorption of ofloxacin if taken at the same time. If both have been prescribed, they generally need to be separated by several hours according to the medication instructions/pharmacist's advice.
Similarly, antacids or supplements containing aluminium, magnesium, iron, calcium or zinc can interfere with ofloxacin absorption.
You now have two different antibiotic regimens represented in the medicines you've shown:
Azithromycin
versus
Cefpodoxime + Ofloxacin
These are not medicines that should be combined or switched between on your own. The correct antibiotic depends on the infection and the doctor's prescription.
If you send the back of the ACCPOD-O strip, I can identify the exact cefpodoxime and ofloxacin strengths. If you send the full prescription, I can also organize all these medicines into a clear schedule and identify the duplicate/interaction risks.
